i found this little guy in one of our grapes. he might be the larvae of the grape berry moth which is bad news. they go into the grapes and live there, sitting in their little trails of poo which they make all over the inside. the berry is their home until they emerge as a little brownish-grey moth. this would definitely not be my first choice if someone asked me which bug i would like to be.
along the highway driving back from des moines. there was a lovely field of tiny sunflowers. :)
my new baby bird friend was awaiting my arrival next to my driveway.
a booth at a small farmer's market in des moines i stumbled upon. quite gaudy. i was actually taking a pic of the big white pvc pipe filled with cement they used to hold down the tent. ingenious. (i know, i'm such a dork)
in west des moines. this would mean something very different in some places (e.g., mexico or korea).
